Be Brave, Be Kind, Be Happy

‘For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.’- Audrey Hepburn

It’s so easy to get caught up in a tangled web of negativity when every time you think you’ve hit rock bottom, you find out it has a basement. Sometimes the shit just keeps coming, and you constantly feel like you’re trying to keep your head above water.

Life is brutal sometimes, but ask yourself this; are you truly discontented with your life, or have you just gotten stuck in an endless circle of negativity?

What have you got to be grateful for? Who around you is an absolute angel to you? Who is always there for you when you need them? What kind things can you say to yourself and to others?

My mum always told my sister and I, ‘if you can’t say something nice, don’t say nothing at all.’ (She definitely got that from Bambi)

So lets strive to speak only words of kindness. Let’s look for the good in others, tell people how grateful you are for them, find things about yourself that you love rather than tear yourself down picking at the things you don’t like, and if you truly are discontented with an aspect of your life, don’t simply accept the situation, make the change, no matter how impossible it might seem or how difficult the initial decision can be to make.

I know how easy it can be to stay in a less than perfect situation simply because it seems simpler to stay, to grin and bear it, than to face the issue and make the change because the initial upheaval is anything but easy, but in the long term I promise that your ultimate happiness relies on it.

Have the courage to be kind to yourself and to others, it can make you feel vulnerable and it can almost feel foreign after getting so tangled in your own (and others) negativity.

You deserve nothing but incredible happiness.

Still having trouble re-framing your ‘tude? Here are some of my favourite songs that help me get out of a funk!;

Until next time,
