Oh hey friends!
Long time no speak, I’m sorry for being a little MIA, life has been a bit crazy this past month or so, and I haven’t really felt like writing, nor have I felt inspired. And I don’t want to just give you any ol’ thing to read. As I’ve said before, I want to feel excited to share posts with you, so you can sleep safe in the knowledge that everything I write on my blog, I truly want to share with the world.
In my ongoing quest to be authentic, I shun the standard monthly favourites posts in favour of more sporadic but (hopefully) more exciting favourites favourites, as I save up those lovely things and share a really concentrated and curated post with you guys.
So without further waffling… Here are some things that I love and want to share with you!
I finished this book about a month ago now, and I honestly haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. In fact I haven’t been able to get hooked on a book since, as nothing compares to the brilliance of this stunning novel. Without giving too much away, The House Of The Spirits spans 4 generations of the Trueba family in an unspecified South American country- Though the story runs somewhat parallel to Chile’s history. This book is an absolute work of art, and intricately incorporates magical realism so beautifully. I highly recommend that you give this book a read if you have not yet done so. In fact this book is now tied for my favourite book of all time, along with The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho.
Although I love my Maria Nila Soft shampoo and conditioner, that I mentioned in my last favourites post, I find that because I only was my hair once every 5 days or so, my hair can get built up quite a lot, and where the Maria Nila products are so gentle, they aren’t quite man enough to completely clarify my hair. So every other wash, I use the Bumble and bumble Sunday shampoo. This stuff is amazing, it’s honestly like a reset button for your hair.
This shampoo is not sulphate free, so if that’s something that’s important to you, please be aware. However because I only use this every 10 days or so, I find that it’s absolutely fine, and using it in conjunction with the Maria Nila shampoo, my hair stays pretty balanced. It’s a little pricey, but you only need a small amount, and again, as I don’t use it all the time, I’m sure it’ll last me at least 6 months, if not more!
Grey French Connection Jumper
I think every single fashion blogger in the world can rest easy knowing that I’m not going to take their job from them. I have no idea how to pose or where they find all of their fancy backgrounds, nor who takes their photos. (Thank you front facing camera with a timer.) But I’ve been loving this French Connection jumper that I got from TK Maxx a little while ago. I just love how cosy and comfy this jumper is, it’s perfect for this time of year now that the weather is definitely chillier. You could be having the worst fat day, throw on this jumper and the world would never know!
So I’m normally not one to get addicted to games or apps, other than things like Twitter and Instagram, but this app is an exception. I downloaded it about 2 weeks ago, and have been obsessed ever since. Basically all you do is design rooms using the certain criteria set, like use a certain colour/designer thing, and then people vote for your room, and you earn more money and level up to get more items as you progress.
Its super addictive, and you will spend more time than you’d care to admit on your creations!
And that’s everything that I wanted to share today. I hope you’ve discovered something new, and if have have anything that you’ve been loving that you think I might too, please do share them down below!
Until next time,
