Because there are those days that only a McDonald’s on your lunch break will do. And although it hits the spot, I can’t help but crave something super healthy afterwards.
Today was exactly that day. So when I came home I fixed myself a green juice, and now all is right in the world.
This juice packs a real nutrient punch. Below are the ingredients and the nutrients they bring to the
- Grapefruit– (1 grapefruit) Folate, Magnesuim, omega 3 fatty acids, omega 6 fatty acids, potassium, vitamin A, Vitamin C.
- Celery– (3 stalks) Folate, magnesium, manganese, panothenic acid, potassium, riboflavin, vitamin A, vitamin B6, vitamin C, Vitamin K.
- Cucumber– (3/4 of a cucumber) Magnesium, manganese, panothenic acid, potassium, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K.
- Kale– (2 handfuls) Copper, fibre, folate, iron, magnesium, manganese, potassium, protein, riboflavin, thiamin, vitamin A, vitamin B6, vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin K.
Wash and chop all of the veg into chunks, and throw into your juicer! (I use the Philips HR1867/21 Viva Collection Quick Clean Juicer – Brushed Aluminium)
This juice is a very ‘green’ tasting juice as there isn’t much in the way of sweetness. The grapefruit adds a little but in all, this is quite an ‘earthy’ tasting drink. Which I don’t dislike. If this is a little too much for you, feel free to add some green apple or other fruit to sweeten.
Let me know if you give it a try! I know green juices can often look quite intimidating, but they are so good for you, and I actually quite like the taste!
Until next time,
